What is this?

Working under the assumption that most U.S. residents don’t have a great conception of European (or world) geography, we’ve taken the longitudinal span of the U.S. and condensed it to fit Europe’s. Any location you choose in one of those geographies is automatically calculated for the other using a kind of relative scale; whatever percentage your location is along the continuum of east to west in one place is equated to that same percentage along the other place’s east-west range. Makes no sense? It’s probably best explained by the maps themselves.
